Last Blog :(

Sadly this will be the last blog of the school year...but, school ends this week!!! 

Since we have finals my mom and dad made me study all weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Andres came over to my house both days and we did some buddy study sessions, ate, swam in my pool, and played video games!

This is a very joyful but stressful week for everyone, we all know how much we HATE finals and how much we would much rather be on summer like all the other schools. 

Having Social Studies with Mr. Devlin, Tech with Mr. Evslin, and Science with Mr. Corbo tomorrow makes an easy-ish day for finals. Wednesday however I have PE, Spanish, and Math which is gonna be a real pain in the you know what I'm gonna say. Thursday luckily I have English which I think is pretty easy and homeroom which is gonna be a party, like literally we're having a party hehe be jelly!

Thanks for the Jelly Beans Mr. Evslin and a shoutout for being the best teacher!

Oahu For The Weekend!

Oahu sounds nice for memorial weekend doesnt it? Well I flew over to Oahu with a bunch of my fellow team mates and played in a soccer tournament in the Waipahu Soccer Complex, a nice, big and crisp piece of land dedicated to soccer perfect soccer fields. Andres and I stayed with with a host family, the Chun's. They were a very nice family and they child, my good friend Owen now, has great memories of the weekend he spent with Andres and I.

Now to the games. On Saturday, we played the Honolulu Bulls B team so they werent that good but put up a fair fight, the score was 4-0 and I got an assist. The second game was against our other team, not a B team but another supposed to be evenly matched team called Platinum. Us, Swoosh had much fun playing this team because all of them were are friends but sadly it ended up 3-0 with another victory for us! Monday however, we played the Honolulu Bulls A team, they were heavily stacked. They kept the ball away from us most of the game which frustrated us and in the middle of the second half, they scored. We tried our hardest to catch up but couldnt quite grasp ourselves another goal. Since this was the semi-finals, we were kinda bummed and with a 1-0 loss, we were satisfied because this is the 2nd best team in the state of Hawaii. 

During this trip, both my iPod and my phone broke so I currently have no electronics which bums me out...YAAWWPPSS

Soccer:Playoffs/Finals

  Well, alike to Douglas' post, we also won our first playoff game which was the semi-final against FC North Shore. But unlike Douglas, we sadly lost our final game again Keahi. The final score for our game was 1- 0 with the luck of Isaiah for Keahi. Isaiah is a very technical player and just almost outran our sweeper Michael. Isaiah was on the run and Michael was right besides him but Isaiah pulled himself forward but pulling on Michael's shoulder which gave him a little boost and he got a lucky shot on goal. I asked the side line referee after there was a heavy foul resulting in a yellow card, "Hey, did you see how Isaiah pulled Michael?" She replied,"It was actually Michael who pulled Isaiah." I was pretty astonished because she as totally wrong because I was running right besides the play as it happened. Once again, the refs cause us to lose.

Brothers Weekend

Well, our soccer team has advanced into the finals this Saturday against Keahi. Some of our players including me have been invited to go and play on Oahu with the other Rush (Our club) team for a tournament at the end of this month. We're gonna be home staying, so we will be split up and Oahu families will host us. 

Pretty much every day of the weekend, yes I know its only 2 days but, my brother and I played the Wii Play game called "Tanks." You pretty much just go around blowing up other tanks and advance through stages that get harder. We make a good team and the whole time we were playing, we were eating lots and lots of spicy chips! He kept on having to eat something sweet because he couldn't handle the spiciness!

Well, after a long game on Saturday vs Keahi, a westside team, we pull off a win and we(Kauai Rush North) wins 1-0 off of a very lucky goal. My friend/teammate in like about the last 3 minutes shot the ball that was rolling right to him, it bounces once, bounced twice and went over the goalie as I kind of shielded it away from him.  That was the last regulation game, now that we won, we're in the playoffs against FC NorthShore. 1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd. We better do good because if we dont, our coach will snap!

Barcelona Getting Owned!

FC Barcelona(spanish), my favorite team, also the best team in the world gets beat by Bayern Munich(german). I was expecting a lot more out of Barce and in the soccer world, a 4-0 loss in the Champions League is really BAD! 

Here's the highlights, might wanna turn the volume off because the announcer is VERY annoying haha.

Our soccer team went to Oahu for the weekend and played the oahu teams, we won one, tied one, and lost one, but the main point is that our team is now closer and more experienced for future references!

Nathan/Soccer Saturday #2

Well, he has recently released a new video and I thought I'd share it!

On Saturday, we played our rivals, the other North Shore Boys U14 team(FC Norhshore). It was a tough game and our coach was expecting a lot out of us. We werent playing the best in the first half however, we played a LOT better in the second half. In the end of the first half, they had the first goal. That goal made our whole team get fired up and then we actually started playing good. Clifton O., was the one to score a beautiful shot from 20 yards out right over the goalie and into the goal. Although we had many opportunities and attempts to score again, we couldnt finish. Sadly it was 1-1 and our coach gave us a big lecture about not having heart and passion in the game of soccer, thats why we played bad.

Oahu Soccer Tournament!

               Kauai Rush North

Our soccer team, Kauai Rush North, is going to Oahu for a tournament to compete against the top teams in the state of Hawaii. We have been doing lots of training, conditioning, and practice to get ready. Since we are so far the top team in the league, I personally think that we have a better chance of winning this year than the last time we went which was 2 years ago. 

The arrive in Oahu on the weekend in 2 weeks. We've done a fundraiser, $10 car wash to help get us over there. I just hope we do a good job when we play, although we're playing some of the top teams. 1st game: HSC Bulls, 2nd game: Honolulu Chelsea, 3rd game(if we win): Nike Swoosh. Nike Swoosh is also Rush which is our club and they're the top team in the state of Hawaii! We're gonna have some competition!! Wish us luck :)

Spring Break

How was your spring break? Mine was pretty boring, I had nothing to do besides hang out with the same friend everyday. The public schools like Kapa'a and Hanalei had school while kids at Island School didn't. I have many friends who go to Kapa'a and since they were in school, it was kinda boring. 

On Saturday, I had a soccer game and our coach didn't want us to embarrass the other team so we had to complete 10 passes before we could go up and score. This made pretty much everyone on the team upset and set us in a bad tone. Second half however we got to do whatever we wanted so we scored some goals. The final score was 5-0.

Customs with Dre

  As you probably know, I play kendama and actually customize them. Andres E. in 8th grade and I had a sleepover and customized some kendamas. By customizing them I mean like staining the wood, and painting the ball, and sanding them down to make them better to play. We stained the wood with mahogany red wood stain, it was a pretty fun little experiment and now our kendamas are pimped out. That was just a little thing we did on our weekend but we also had a soccer scrimmage/practice against a westside team called Lokahi, they we a mix of U16 and U18 when we are U14, sadly we lost like 5-3

Well...my weekend once again was filled with soccer unfortunately but we won so that was good. Saturday I played a league game against the Lihue Rush and we won 2-1. Sunday, we had a scrimmage against a U16 team meaning the players are 16 or under and we're a U14 team with mostly 13 year old kids! We won them 1-0 then later at 3:30 we played another league game and won about 

9 or 8 to 0! 

My iPod this morning kinda pooped out on me when I was trying to uninstall a program. I had to reboot/restart the iPod because it wouldn't stop loading. Now when I try to turn it on its just a constant reboot and never actually turns on :/

Practice

Soccer Practice!

How many practices do you thing are average? Well our team, Kauai Rush North, practices Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, Saturday I have a game. So playing soccer 5 days a week is pretty fun but takes up a lot of extra time I could have to be having fun :) Well I just ordered new cleats...Nike Mercurial Vapor IX-Blue, the newest line of the Nike Mercurial soccer cleats! Can't wait till they come in!!! Here's a picture of them

Soccer Saturday #1

As you may or may not know there are many people in this class that play soccer. Actually not many but a few. We have games every Saturday and last Saturday, the 2nd we played Kenneth's team, Keahi. They were pretty rough in my opinion, we unfortunately now have 2 very injured good players. Tai in eighth grade was one of them, he got a minor concussion because he was running full speed and someone on the other team jumped on him and his head got slammed into the other goalies knee causing him to get a concussion. The other one was Trevor, he got heavily cleated in the knee and might of torn a big muscle. Well I hope we have a better, safer game next time we play them! Thanks for reading. Oh by the way we won that game 3-1

What a weekend!

Soccer!

Well...if you play soccer or not, you should probably know that a 9-0 win is a BIG BLOWOUT! Our team, Rush North beat the Extreme Strikers at the vidinha field last Saturday, the first game of the season! Now, I'm not trying to brag or anything but I wanna say it was a pretty fun game and a round of applause to the other team :) Some people on that team who go to our school are Bailey, Rebecca, and Anastasia in 8th grade and Jessica in 7th. Good job to there team and I hope they have a good season! Good luck!

Harlem Shake

Do you know what the Harlem Shake is? Well if you don't you better learn fast because its like the new big dance video/thing. Its a song by Baauer and is pretty good in my opinion. The dance/music video starts off with one person dancing and then a little later there's a giant crowd just randomly dancing in crazy ways! It's fun to watch and there's many videos out there! Spirit Week!

                           Spirit Week!!!                                      

How are you guys enjoying spirit week??? Is it fun? Or do you think its a waste of time? Leave a comment tell me what you think! I personally think its pretty cool although I havent really been following the required days. Today, Wednesday, is pajama day, but my friend told me its pink, purple, white, and red day for Valentines day and I wore a pink shirt! I'm matching/twin with Andres E.(Friend), he wore the same pink shirt as me even though yesterday was twin, and tomorrow is pink day, so technically we're one day late and one day ahead! Flu/Sickness #2

                                                       Flu/Cold

Remember that post I did like a week or two ago about the "Influenza?" Well...I think I spoke a little to much about myself and got sick! Last Friday night there was a kendama tournament and I think I did a little to much that night, I got sick the next day. Over the weekend however, being sick got me stuck in the book called, "The Outsiders." A great novel by S.E. Hinton about kids called greasers who live on the wrong side of town. I guess my weekend was blown because I was sick but I still had fun which was good!

1/2 Way Through School

   Well well well, finally half way through the school year. Mid-terms are here, Douglas and I have so exact same schedule so we have already completed two of the four tests. I guess they're supposed to be challenging, I find that hard to consider for me and I think Douglas too finds it hard to consider these tests are challenging. So far they're pretty easy, but science and math might be a bit harder than the previous two. Well lets just hope for the best and this year will be over before we know it! Kauai Rush

Kauai soccer has recently combined a couple teams to make a club team called Rush. This is a very skillful youth soccer club in the US. Our team, NSB, has now joined this club because our coach wanted us to be on a real club instead of being our own little team. Yesterday we had practice and our coach ran us hard. He did a pretty gnarly warmup which made everyone tired and sore fr the day. Well...the only reason I wrote this is because I had nothing else to talk about :/

Influenza?

                      Do you have the flu?

Well as you may or may not know many people are sick at this time. There are people in the mainland who are dying of this sickness. Many of my friends have been sick at this time and I'm hoping no more will get sick. To stay away from this you should frequently wash your hands and stay away from other sick people. My dad has been making me many high vitamin smoothies which are very delicious and keep up my immune system. Just saying everyone should stay healthy and not get infected by this deadly influenza!

Once again

                    Once again...back to school

Well after a nice relaxing weekend, I don't like to be back to school all tired and not wanting to do work. Although I get to see all my friends again it's still nice to be chilling at home. Saturday night I went to a party with a whole bunch of friends! We watched a movie, threw goldfish(the food one) at each other, and jumped on a trampoline! On Sunday, I got to burn off all the fatty foods I ate over the weekend, soccer practice with NSB. These practices are pretty hard if you're out of shape, but it's also very fun! For now we're doing conditioning to start off the season so we can have a strong mental and physical mind and body. Our coach really wants us to crush the other teams, not in a bad way but to pick out highly skilled players to recruit for the new season thats upcoming. Well thats pretty much my weekend and about our soccer team. I will start posting more interesting stuff so have fun!

Soccer Practice

                              Soccer Practice Yesterday!
  It was so nice to be back in my soccer cleats after a long 2 months of watching. I broke my collar bone a little before Thanksgiving day when I was at soccer practice when Tai kinda pushed/tripped me on accident. When I fell I heard it crack and it was awful, probably the worst thing that I will ever hear in my life! But yesterday, Wednesday, I went to train again with my team. I wasn't able to do any drills involving contact with another player but got to run and do the conditioning with them. It was very refreshing after sitting around and being lazy for the last 1 1/2 months. You might not think running/conditioning is refreshing but try siting around for 2 months not being able to run, it feels like you're trapped. But all I want to say is that it was nice to be back on the field and with the team! 

My Break

                                   My Winter Break

   My winter break was great! It was very exciting and I had a lot of fun! For Christmas I got a new pair of board shorts, an authentic FC Barcelona jersey, a jumbo kendama, and some more clothes related objects. For 5 days in a row I was with my friend Makai, he is very funny and we get along very well.

A whole bunch of other friends and I made a big kendama video, it's about 10 minutes long and starring about 10 people. We had fun filming it and was a good experience for all of us. I guess my winter break wasn't that fun because I didn't do that much but it was good to get a break from school. At the end of the break however I kinda missed school and wanted to go back which was a surprise. Finally, now that i'm back at school it's good to be with all my buddies!
